Rental truck backed into the front of my vehicle, who's at fault? I was driving behind a rental truck when it decided to stop in the middle of the neighborhood road (I think it was because it ran passed its customer's house). Once I stopped behind him, he decided to back his rental truck without any type of signal to go back to that house. I honked at him, but it was not until he backed the truck into the front of my truck that he stopped. He claimed that him & his passenger didn't see me before the situation. I have auto insurance but I do not have collision repair coverage. I don't know if his insurance have collision repair or not. My small truck have major damage. Who's at fault at this situation? If his insurance have collision repair, would they repair my truck? If his insurance doesn't have collision repair, do I need to pay out of pocket to fix my truck, or should I wait to sue after my repair is complete? car insurance. Pontiac . How to Install an Ignition Lock Cylinder in an F-250The ignition lock cylinder on your Ford F-250 controls the power routed to the accessories of your truck and is responsible for the ignition controls. If your ignition cylinder is beginning to stick, replace it as soon as you can. If it seizes up, you risk damaging your steering column when you remove it. Buy a replacement cylinder with a new key from an auto parts retailer or Ford dealership. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Small Phillips head screwdriver Step by Step : 1 Turn the ignition key to the "RUN" position in the ignition cylinder. Use a small Phillips head screwdriver or similar object to insert into the hole beneath the lock cylinder on the steering column. 2 Push up on the release lever inside the hole while you pull the ignition lock cylinder straight out of the steering column. Discard the old ignition cylinder. 3 Insert the key that came with the new cylinder into the new ignition cylinder. Turn it to the "RUN" setting. Push your screwdriver straight into the hole to press the release lever while you insert the new cylinder in the column. 4 Release the lever once the cylinder is secure. Test the new ignition cylinder by cycling it through all of the settings.
Pontiac . How to Remove a GM Ignition Lock CylinderGeneral Motors produces Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac and Buick vehicles. GM also produced Pontiac and Oldsmobile cars; but as of 2010 and 2004 respectively, these makes are no longer being made. GM used similar parts in all of their vehicles, including the ignition lock cylinder, or ignition switch. The lock cylinder in your GM vehicle is located on the steering column and can be replaced in about one to two hours with automotive tools. Difficulty:Moderately Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Adjustable wrench Phillips head screwdriver Universal steering wheel puller Step by Step : 1 Open the hood. Remove the negative battery terminal from the battery by loosening the nut with an adjustable wrench in a counterclockwise direction and lifting the cable from the post. 2 Remove the horn pad from the steering wheel by removing the holding screws on the back of the steering wheel spokes with a Phillips head screwdriver turned in a counterclockwise direction. Lift the horn pad from the steering wheel and disconnect the wiring leads from the back of the pad by pulling them straight out. Set the pad and screws aside. 3 Remove the center nut that holds the steering wheel to the steering shaft by backing it out with an adjustable wrench in a counterclockwise direction. Set the nut aside. 4 Attach a universal steering wheel puller to the steering wheel by threading two bolts through the slots in each side of the puller and into the threaded holes in the steering wheel on each side of the steering shaft. (Note: The bolts only need to be tightened finger-tight.) 5 Remove the steering wheel by turning the center bolt on the steering wheel puller in a clockwise direction with an adjustable wrench until the wheel lifts off of the steering shaft. Set the wheel aside. 6 Remove the two screws holding the white plastic turn signal mechanism in place with a Phillips head screwdriver turned in a counterclockwise direction. Set the screws aside. Lift the turn signal mechanism up slightly to reveal the ignition lock retainer screw. Remove the screw by turning it counterclockwise with a Phillips head screwdriver. Pull the ignition lock cylinder straight out of the steering column. Tips & Warnings Many different-sized bolts come with a universal steering wheel puller. Choose two bolts that fit into the threaded holes in your GM steering wheel. Reinstall a new ignition switch in the reverse order. When installing the steering wheel, the tightening action of the steering shaft nut will pull the steering wheel down to its regular position. *V A lugs with an L is left-threaded. Turn it clockwise to loosen it. For the purposes of sanity, I'll assume that your car has right-threaded nuts. If you have a couple of lefties, just turn the wrench in the opposite direction as you follow these steps to loosen the lug nuts: 1. Find the end of the wrench that fits the lug nuts on your car, and fit it onto the first nut. Part I: Getting Started. Always work on lug nuts in rotation. That way, you won't forget to tighten any later. 2. Apply all your weight to the bar on the left. This starts turning the nut counterclockwise, which loosens it. If the nut has been put on with a power tool and you can't get it started, a piece of hollow pipe, fitted over that left-hand arm of the cross-shaft wrench, magically adds enough leverage to start the nut easily (see Figure 1-4). After you replace the nut yourself, this aid is no longer necessary. But remember, the longer the arms on your lug wrench, the more leverage you have. Figure 1-4: 129

Don't remove the lug nuts completely; just get them loose enough so that you can remove them by hand after raising the car (a feat explained in an earlier section of this chapter, "The Safe Way to Use a Jack"). Changing the tire Once the vehicle is safely jacked up and the lug nuts are off, follow these instructions to change the tire: 1. Remove the spare from the trunk if you haven't already done so. Actually, it's easier to do this before jacking up the car. If you haven't checked your spare recently, keep your fingers crossed that it has enough air in it! Roll the spare to the scene of the action. 2. Grasp the flat tire with both hands and pull it toward you. The flat tire sits on the exposed bolts that the lug nuts screwed onto. As you pull the flat off, it should slide along the bolts until, suddenly, it . Chapter 1: Things Every Driver Should Know O 2 Pontiac . If this is the case, a bit of ingenuity may help; see the sidebar "A little ingenuity goes a long way" for details. 5. After you have the spare tire in place, replace the lug nuts and tighten them by hand. Give each lug nut a jolt with the wrench to get it firmly into place, but wait until the car is on the ground before you really try to tighten the lug nuts.
